Garth Hill College

Year 11 Transition

Introduction

Following the completion of the exams in June we may contact you and ask you to attend college if we need to clarify anything with you about your assessed work. Please check your school email regularly.

Whilst you are at home during this period we suggest you try some of these transition activities to help build and boost your personal profile. If you have any questions about logging on to Unifrog please contact Mrs Burge (t-burge@garthhillcollege.com)

Next Steps

Gather all of your information together and save it to your own home device.

  • CV
  • Records of achievements
  • Work you wish to keep
  • Anything on your Unifrog, PiXL Edge or school accounts which you wish to keep (you will keep the same account if you are joining sixth form).

Try a MOOC

A MOOC is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web.

They can be a great way to expand your knowledge, look at something in more depth or develop your skills.

If you're unsure of what you want to study, they’re a great way of trying out a subject area.

Enrichment

The Oak Academy have produced some great resources to help you carry on developing your knowledge in the subjects you love. These are great for those who are going to sixth form or college. Transition work for our sixth form will be available after taster days later in June.

Think about and explore your personal development in a variety of ways, the how to section on Unifrog has some great ideas:
